Rockfall incident at Kolahoi galcier, 2 injured
PAHALGAM September 14 (PTK) Two mountaineers were injured on Monday in a rockfall incident at Kolahoi glacier in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Sources said that incident occurred at Kolahoi glacier camp when two mountaineers who were part of a group belonging to Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), came under a landslide involving the fall of rocks.
The incident resulted in injuries to two of the mountaineers.One among them is said to be a male and another woman mountaineer.
The four member group is headed by a Srinaagr based guide Nawab Moazzam Khan.
They said that the woman mountaineer has received injuries at both of her wrists and another mountaineer has suffered an arm injury.
As per reports, IMF is trying to rescue the mountaineers through chopper service; however, no official confirmation was received about the chopper service yet.
The service, as per the reports, charges around 6 lacs for the rescue operation.(PTK)
