Several SMC corporators appreciated CB for taking cognizance of illegal constructions in Srinagar
Srinagar August 11(PTK)Several SMC corporators appreciated the role of Crime Branch and other agencies for taking cognizance of illegal constructions in Srinagar.
Corporator Rajbagh Bhat Shaheena has appreciated the role of CB for conducting checks regarding illegal constructions in Srinagar in which top brass is said to be involved.
She equested them to continue probe and take action against involved persons.
Corporator Eidgah Mohammed Ashraf also appreciated CB and asked them to investigate it from ground zero and take action against involved persons.
Abdul Waheed Dar also appreciated them and SMC commissioner for taking cognizance of the issue.
He said media must also highlight illegal constructions so that concerned agencies will take cognizance and we can save the glory of our city.
Pertinently Crime Branch Kashmir is conducting “checks” at a number of places in Srinagar regarding illegal structures including shopping malls amid complaints about the involvement of top Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials.
Crime Branch in a press release said that the Crime branch Kashmir started conducting checks across the city.
There have been numerous allegations that SMC top brass has allowed illegal structures including shopping malls to come up without following the due procedures against illegal gratifications an official said,adding that there also are complaints that some shopping complex have been allowed without provision of mandatory parking spaces.
Also numerous complaints have been received that where the officials of the SMC have allowed large deviation of building permissions and at instances, there are complaints that some structures have been allowed without even permission.”
Those who found guilty in flouting norms will be dealt as per law and further investigation into the matter has been taken up, He added(PTK)
