Teacher allegedly rapes student in Kulgam

SRINAGAR JULY(PTK)A 20-year-old girl has been allegedly raped by her teacher in the Chichmulla area of Devsar belt in Kukgam District of Kashmir.

Sources said that a girl (name withheld) has accused her teacher of raping her when she was sitting in a field, when he came along with two others.

She in her Police complaint has said that the accused Hilal Ahmed Dar, her teacher of placing a handkerchief on her nostrils, which caused immediate unconsciousness.

“He then raped me, and left from the spot while two others were present on the spot, she added.

In this regard the Jammu Kashmir Police, immediately swung into action and arrested the accused while as efforts are on to nab two others.

A Police official said that the accused has been detained and an FIR has been launched into the incident. “Further investigations have started.”

Meanwhile police in a statement said that on 05 July 2020 Police Station DH Pora received a complaint that a girl (name withheld) was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by 3 men. The prime accused is from village Chachimullah
while the other two are from Gandwani.

Upon receipt of the complaint, a case with FIR No 109/2020 U/S 366,376 IPC was registered and investigation was set into motion.

A team headed by SHO PS DH Pora, Insp Abdul Ahad, under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora, arrested the main accused within 24 hours of registration of the case while the other two are being actively sought.

There are rumours being floated by miscreants that police has let off the accused persons or that the medical examiner was trying to convince the victim to change her statement.

The rumours are baseless and are being propagated to create unrest. In case someone has specific information with respect to the rumours the same may be communicated to police so that necessary action can be taken. Floating rumours to instigate disturbance shall invite legal action against the erring individiual.(PTK)
