Covid-19:- J&K crosses 500 mark, no new case in Jammu division

 

Twenty seven more tested positive in Kashmir, toll reaches 523 in J&K

SRINAGAR:- APRIL (PTK ) Twenty-seven persons were tested positive for the corona virus on Sunday taking the toll of total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to 523

According to officials, all the new Coronavirus patients are from Kashmir while no fresh Covid-19 case was reported in Jammu on Sunday.

They said that 16 were tested positive at SKIMS lab and 11 at CD hospital on Sunday.

They said that among new cases is an expecting mother from the Srinagar’s downtown who had contracted the virus from a Covid-19 positive neighbour and a health worker from Anantnag district.

Pertinently J&K has reported six deaths so far, five from Kashmir and one from Jammu.

Among 27 cases reported on Sunday, 9 are from south Kashmir’s Anantnag district followed by Bandipora with 8 new cases, Baramulla (7), Srinagar (2) and Kupwara (1).

Officials at JLNM hospital said that one of the patients admitted to the Covid-19 hospital on Sunday is an expecting mother besides a shopkeeper.

Officials from SKIMS said that 16 new patients have tested positive for novel Coronavirus in the virology lab out of 317 samples tested on Sunday.

Out of 16, 08 are from Bandipora, 07 from Baramulla and 01 from Kupwara, they said.

Officials from bandipora said that out of 8 new cases, 7 belong to Gund Jahangeer village while as one is from Wusan Goshbug village.

Officials from Baramulla said that out of seven cases, 5 belong to Sheeri village while as two others are from Kakkar Hamam and Rafiabad villages.

They further added that one of the new patients was a minor girl who is just 5-year-old and lives in Gund Jahangeer village.

They said all the new Covid-19 patients detected today have contact history of already Covid-19 positive patients.(PTK)
