Step motherly treatment of New Delhi towards Kashmiri business community deplorable- AIP

Srinagar, 14th February: (PTK)..Echoing the demands of Kashmiri business community, Awami Itehad Party today in a statement came down heavily on New Delhi vis-a-vis its step motherly and negligent attitude towards the struggling business community.

The responsibility of damages caused to the business community in Kashmir through complete breakdown of state machinery, post abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A entirely lies with the present day Government.

Leaving the business fraternity at the mercy of God after making them suffer losses worth crores portrays the insensitive and vicious style of functioning of Modi’s government. Awami Itehad Party had already demanded from New Delhi a financial assistance package for revival of businesses in Jammu and Kashmir.

But it seems the pain of common Kashmiris is giving some kind of sadistic pleasure to those occupying chairs of power in New Delhi. Harassment of private businesses by banks and other financial organisations must be stopped at once. At a time when entire world is cognisant of the prevailing situation in Kashmir, such kind of insensitivity and inhuman attitude adopted by the Modi Government towards the business community in particular is simply repugnant said party Spokesperson, Sheeban Ashai. AIP urges the present day Government to put a freeze on payment of bank loan instalments for Kashmiri businesses,at least for a duration of six months.

Furthermore the party reiterates its demand for an economic assistance package of the tune of minimum fifty thousand crores for reviving the ailing businesses in Kashmir.(PTK)
