Kashmiri Journalists boycott ‘Republic Day of India’
SRINAGAR, (PTK): For the first time journalists boycotted Republic Day function in Srinagar after security force not allowed five cameramen to enter the stadium and report the function despite having security passes.
They said their names did not figure in the list which was provided to the security wing of the state police. ”We were not allowed to enter the stadium where the main RD function was held,” the photographers Touseef Mustafa, Mehrajuddin, Umar Meraj, Danish and Aman Farooq said. Another senior photo-journalist Habib Naqash said he was not even issued security pass to cover the function.
In a tweet, Peoples Conference chairperson Sajjad Lone condemned the attitude of the administration towards press.
