LG Manoj Sinha Leads Massive Anti-Drug Padyatra in Bandipora, Vows to Eliminate Narco-Terror Ecosystem
Bandipora, May 25 (PTK): Manoj Sinha on Sunday spearheaded a massive anti-drug campaign in Bandipora by leading a large Padyatra aimed at strengthening the ongoing fight against narco-terror and drug abuse across Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Manoj Sinha said that 45 days ago he had pledged not only to dismantle the ecosystem of smugglers and narco-terrorists but also to launch a movement focused on restoring dignity to families affected by addiction and empowering youth.
He said Jammu and Kashmir stands united and fully committed to eradicating the menace of drugs and narco-terror from society.
“The action against narco-terrorists and drug smugglers will continue. It will not stop until every drug smuggler is eliminated from the sacred soil of Jammu Kashmir,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor stated that security and enforcement agencies have launched an unprecedented drive to dismantle narco-terror networks and hidden supply chains operating in the region.
“No drug smuggler, drug peddler, or anyone seeking to poison our society is beyond reach. The entire narco-terror ecosystem is being pursued,” he added.
Manoj Sinha further said that several hidden drug supply networks are being traced and dismantled and asserted that drug cartels which had thrived for decades are now being wiped out.
“We have sent a clear message that Jammu Kashmir will not be a safe haven for those who profit from other people’s suffering,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also announced that the administration would soon introduce a comprehensive rehabilitation policy to ensure that youth trapped in addiction are provided opportunities to rejoin the mainstream through employment, skill development and support systems.
“Our aim is that not a single young person is left behind. We will provide jobs, opportunities and the means for them to live with dignity,” he said.
He stressed that the success of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir would not only be measured by the number of smugglers arrested but also by the number of lives rebuilt and families restored.
Calling for collective participation, Manoj Sinha said the administration alone cannot win the fight against drugs and appealed to families, teachers, religious leaders and citizens to actively contribute towards the campaign.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor also inaugurated the Waqar Knowledge Centre, a dedicated youth engagement and rehabilitation initiative established under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The Centre includes facilities such as a sports corner, badminton court, reading library and an information desk providing guidance regarding government schemes, education, employment and skill development opportunities.
Officials said the administration plans to establish one Waqar Knowledge Centre in every block of Bandipora district to strengthen rehabilitation and reintegration efforts for recovering addiction cases and promote community resilience against drug abuse.(PTK)
