Police Seizes 6 Vehicles in Crackdown on Illegal Mining, Traffic Violations in Baramulla
Baramulla, May 10 (PTK): Continuing its drive against illegal mining and traffic violations, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla carried out multiple enforcement actions in the Chandoosa area and seized six vehicles involved in various violations.
During naka checking, Police Station Chandoosa seized two tippers and one dumper allegedly involved in illegal extraction and transportation of stones and sand. Officials said action against the vehicles was initiated under provisions of the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act.
In another action, police seized one tipper operating without valid documents under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
Further intensifying the drive against Motor Vehicles Act violators, Police Station Chandoosa also seized two four-wheelers and one motorcycle under Section 207 of the MV Act for violating transport norms.
Police reiterated its commitment towards strict enforcement against illegal mining activities and traffic violations and appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order.(PTK)
