Bandipora Admin Clears Medical Waste from Ahamshareef Route, Acts Against Erring Stores

Bandipora, May 05 (PTK): The District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday carried out a sanitation drive along the Ahamshareef route after the area was found to have turned into a dumping spot for improperly discarded medical waste, posing serious environmental and public health risks.

Sanitation teams removed the dumped biomedical waste and other accumulated garbage from the site, restoring cleanliness and ensuring safe disposal practices.

Taking serious note of the violation, authorities initiated action against medical stores found responsible for improper disposal of biomedical waste. Strict warnings were issued, and officials stated that such negligence would invite punitive action under relevant laws.

The administration urged all healthcare establishments and the general public to strictly adhere to prescribed waste disposal protocols and utilise authorised waste management systems to prevent recurrence of such incidents.(PTK)
