Locals in the Gonsi Mohalla area of Akhal in Kangan discovered severed livestock heads
GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 07: Locals in the Gonsi Mohalla area of Akhal in Kangan discovered severed livestock heads — some from cows and at least two from horses.
The heads were handed over to the police, who seized them and have begun an investigation.
The discovery has stirred fears among residents that horse-meat (or other illicit meat) might have been — or could be — illicitly supplied to unsuspecting consumers, especially given the ongoing “rotten meat” scandal in the Valley.
People in the area are demanding a thorough probe: to trace where the animals came from, why they were slaughtered (or dismembered), and whether there is a wider “illegal slaughter / meat-supply network.”(PTK)
