3 Medical Stores Sealed in Achabal as Police Intensifies Crackdown in Anantnag
Anantnag, May 04 (PTK): Continuing its crackdown against the misuse and illegal sale of pharmaceutical drugs, police in Anantnag, in coordination with the Drug Control Department, conducted surprise inspections of medical stores in the Achabal area.
During the inspections, three medical shops were found violating norms by failing to properly maintain and update sale-purchase records. Acting swiftly, the joint team sealed the establishments—Hope Chemists and Drugs, Parry Medical Store, and Dar and Rather Pharmacy.
The action was taken under relevant legal provisions to prevent diversion of scheduled drugs for illicit use. Further inquiry into the matter is underway, and appropriate legal action will follow based on the findings.(PTK)
Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards drug abuse and urged all chemists to strictly comply with provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 by maintaining proper records.
The public has also been requested to share information regarding any such violations to help authorities curb drug abuse and build a drug-free society.
