DIG NKR Baramulla Visits Sopore, Reviews Security Scenario

Sopore, May 04 (PTK): Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range Baramulla, Dr. Vinod Kumar, on Monday visited Sopore and chaired a detailed review meeting on security and crime in the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Sopore Shri Iftkhar Talib-JKPS, Addl. SP Sopore, SDPOs, DySP Operations, and SHOs of the district. Notably, this was the first field visit of DIG NKR to Police District Sopore after assuming charge.

During the session, a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation, crime trends, and ongoing operations was carried out. The DIG laid special emphasis on maintaining a strong security grid, strengthening intelligence mechanisms, and ensuring swift response to emerging threats.

He also reviewed the progress of investigations in key cases, including those registered under NDPS and other serious offences. Officers were directed to ensure quality investigations, timely completion of cases, and effective prosecution.

Stressing coordinated efforts, DIG NKR called for enhanced synergy among police units, increased vigilance, and sustained drives to curb crime and maintain law and order. He further highlighted the importance of public engagement and community-based policing.

Officers were instructed to continue focused enforcement under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan and adopt proactive measures to ensure peace, stability, and public confidence across the district.(PTK)
