4 Notorious drug peddler arrested, 325 Kgs Poppy Straw recovered. Shopian Police

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 14:-Continuing war against abuse of drug peddling, Police Party of PS Heerpora recovered*325 Kgs of Poppy Straw * like substance at Dubjan on Mughal Road concealed in the truck bearing registration No.PB 02 EH 4676 which was on way from Shopian to Punjab. Four person on board have been identified as

1. Sharangeet Sing S/O Bulvinder Sing R/O Khapad kheeri Amritsar Punjab(Driver of Vehicle PB02EH 4676)

2.Mohd Rafiq Ganie S/O Ab. Aziz Ganie R/O Hermain Shopian ( Fruit Dealer)

3.Raj Kumar S/O Sham lal R/O Pind Baghykay Athhard District Fazalka Punjab

4. Gurjanat Sing S/O gisvinder Sing R/O geevanda khurad District Tarantarn Punjab (Conductor ).
FIR NO. 85 /2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station and all the four accused persons have been arrested in the instant case. The recovered drugs were sealed and seized as per the provisions of NDPS act in presence of executive magistrate on spot. Further investigation is going on ascertain the forward and backward linkages and more recoveries and arrests are expected.

Shopian police appeals general public to come forward and share the information regarding the menace of drug abuse in order to eradicate this social evil from society
