2 persons from outside J&K have bought property after removal of article 370: Centre

Press Trust of Kashmir | SRINAGAR, AUG 10 (PTK): In the two years since the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the two Union Territories, the government said in Parliament that only two people have bought property from outside in Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said in Lok Sabha, “As per the information given by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, two persons from outside Jammu and Kashmir have purchased two properties in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir since August 2019.” a written answer.
The minister was asked whether the government or people from other states faced any “difficulty or hurdles” while buying property in Jammu and Kashmir. “No such incident has been reported to the government,” he said.
The Home Ministry’s reply was on the question whether it is true that after the abrogation of Article 370, which gave special status to the state under the Constitution, many people from other states have bought and are taking interest in buying property in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government on August 5, 2019 abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. (PTK).
