11-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Ganderbal Canal
Ganderbal, June 2 – A tragic incident occurred in the Thune area of Kangan, central Kashmir, where an 11-year-old boy drowned in an irrigation canal on Sunday, officials reported.
According to sources, the boy accidentally slipped into the canal, prompting an immediate rescue operation. Despite the efforts of the rescue team, the boy was retrieved from the water and rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan. Sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The community is in mourning following this heartbreaking event, as locals and officials urge increased safety measures around irrigation canals to prevent such tragedies in the future.
