Water Tubewell Sinks in Bonn Mir Area of Ladiyar Tral Amidst Heavy Rainfall, Causing Panic

Pulwama : In a shocking incident, the water tubewell in the Bonn Mir area of Ladiyar Tral sank on Thursday evening during heavy rainfall, leading to a sense of panic among the local residents. Upon discovering the sinking tubewell, the community members rushed to the site, only to find that the electro-mechanical machinery worth lakhs had been damaged.

 

To assess the situation and initiate restoration work, a team from the PHE Mechanical department promptly visited the spot. Assistant Engineer Niyaz Ahmad Bhat, speaking to the Press Trust of Kashmir, mentioned that they are currently in the process of restoring the tubewell.

 

He explained that the motors and pumps suffered damage, and to prevent further harm to the existing structure, tractors are being used to fill the tubewell.

 

Bhat assured the public not to panic as every effort is being taken to restore the tubewell, while water supply to the affected areas is being maintained through water tankers and alternative sources.

 

“The PHE Mechanical team is working diligently to restore the tubewell and ensure that the community’s water needs are met,” He said.

 

Reports said that the local administration is actively addressing the issue and taking necessary steps to restore the tubewell & to resolve the water shortage caused by the sinking of the tubewell.
