Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : Day after sonamarg taxi drivers association held a protest demonstration against the authorities on for not allowing them to go to zero-point Zojila since last few days, tourists on Thursday were seen disappointed over closure of main point
Tourists said that it takes so much time, money and other things in order to reach to zero point which was very easy otherwise.
We are very much disappointed with the government move and authorities must reopen point again for traffic, they said.
We have came here for the first time and there are chances that we won’t be able to come again here and if we won’t see this point today, then how we can, they said.

On Wednesday, sumo drivers were also demanding opening of zero-point, a hillresort on the Srinagar-Leh highway at Zojilla.
“What is the logic behind prohibiting us from carrying out tourism related activities at zero-point but allowing movement of light motorvehicles in the same area,” the protesters had said.
“If vehicles are allowed towards Kargil, why are localsand tourists being stopped and not allowed?” they said. “We depend upon this place where presently we are not allowed to go.
Our families are dependent on these vehicles but if authorities won’t allow us to go zero point our whole work gets affected which in turn effects hoteliers and other people associated with it.
There remains season for just three months and if we won’t be allowed to work for these three months, then where we will go and we will give to our families to eat, they said.
We have already suffered very much in last three years and can’t go like this again now, they said.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter and allow them to go to zero point.
