Tanvir Sadiq Provides ₹5 Lakh Relief to Dal Lake Tragedy Victim’s Family

Srinagar, May 3(PTK): In a compassionate gesture following the tragic Dal Lake incident, Tanvir Sadiq, MLA Zadibal and Chief Spokesperson of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), today visited the grieving family of Taufeeq Ahmad Chopan in Lamb Mohalla, Rainawari.

Taufeeq Ahmad Chopan lost his life in a recent accident at Dal Lake, leaving the local community in mourning. Accompanied by the Tehsildar of Khanyar/Rainawari and other administrative officials, Tanvir Sadiq met the victim’s father, Ghulam Mohammad Chopan, and expressed his profound condolences on the untimely demise of the young man.

Speaking at the occasion, Sadiq said, “No amount can bring back a young life, but we will ensure the family receives every possible support during this difficult time.” He added that such tragedies remind us of the need for stronger safety measures and community support.

Acting on the instructions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq handed over a relief cheque of ₹5 lakh to the bereaved family to assist them financially as they cope with their immense loss.

The relief measure has been welcomed by the local community, who appreciated the timely outreach and support provided by the government and JKNC leadership.

Further measures for victim families and enhanced safety protocols at the Dal Lake are expected to be discussed in upcoming administrative meetings. (PTK)
