Solider shoots self dead in Budgam

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 09: An Army soldier committed suicide by shooting self with his service rifle in central Kashmir district of Budgam on Friday.
Official sources said that panic gripped Magam in Budgam when a gunshot was heard on Friday.
“Soldiers deployed there rushed to the area from where the gunshot was heard and found a jawan in a pool of blood,” they said.

In a statement issued to Press Trust Of Kashmir They said jawan, identified as Naik Bhupinder singh of Punjab was shifted to 92 base hospital Srinagar where he was declared brought dead.
“It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step,” they said, adding police has registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstances which forced him to commit suicide.
