Rajouri admin establishing District Disability Rehabilitation Centre
DC discusses modalities
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAJOURI, AUGUST 25: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities for the establishment of a District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) in the district.
Discussing the facilities to be provided in the centre, the DSWO informed that the centre would have the provision for multiple therapies like aqua therapy, yoga therapy, music therapy, and language therapy, besides a prosthetics production unit.
“To provide necessary skills to the persons with disabilities, a skill development centre is already functioning in the district” he said.
Addressing the officers during the meeting, the DDC said that the District Disability Rehabilitation centre is a noble initiative of the Govt to facilitate comprehensive services to Persons with Disabilities.

The inmates will also be imparted skills in the DDRC which will help them to improve their livelihood, the meeting was told.
After a threadbare discussion, the meeting decided to set up the District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) at GMC&AH. The DC asked to operationalize the centre within one week.
Officers who attended the meeting were ADDC, Pawan Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar; MS GMC & AH, Dr Mehmood; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and other concerned officers.
