Srinagar, July 08: Mirwaiz North Kashmir, who is also Chairman Muslim Mutahida Mahaaz J&K, Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi* has passionately appealed to the LG administration J&K for allotment of basic facilities in govt hospitals of UT Jammu and Kashmir.
In a press release issued today Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi said, “Jammu & Kashmir is a beautiful region with a diverse population. The government of Jammu & Kashmir provides a wide range of healthcare services to its citizens through a network of government hospitals. In J&K there are atleast 2,812 Hospitals. As per report the most govt hospitals of lack the basic facilities like modern machinery and paramedical staff. In the absence of doctors, the sick make do with whoever is available, irrespective of their qualifications. Deficient infrastructure, insufficient manpower, high patient load, vague quality of services and cost burden are the major challenges currently confronting public hospitals in J&K.”
While addressing the present health care scenerio of J&K Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi said , hospitals like the SMHS and the SKIMS have been receiving thousands of referral cases owing to non-availability of the full health care facilities in rural areas. He also said that lack of emergency operation theaters in the hospitals is also a big concern due to which patients which need immediate surgeries get their turn after months .
While highlighting conditions of govt hospitals Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi said the condition of the civic facilities in overcrowded government hospitals is not good. Filthy washrooms with broken latches, blocked hoses, broken taps and leaking taps, overflowing sewers, clogged sinks and foul and stinking smells in washrooms are giving tough time to the patients and attendants.
Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi appealed UT administration to provide all basic facilities to its hospitals so that patients can get better treatment from these hospitals.
