Police arrests a bootlegger in Bandipora, illicit liquor recovered
Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar November 15: Acting tough against the social crimes, Police in Bandipora arrested a bootlegger and recovered illicit liquor from his possession.
Acting on specific information, a police party led by SHO PS Aragam under the supervision of DySP PC Bandipora Shri Zafar Mehdi-JKPS at a checkpoint established near Wular Vintage Park Garoora intercepted a suspicious person identified as Ashiq Hussain Bhat resident of Arin Bandipora. On checking, 07 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 45/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Aragam and investigation was initiated. During Preliminary investigation, it came to surface that the illicit liquor was meant for sale in the area.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding anti-social elements in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in anti-social activities will be dealt as per law.
