Police arrests 02 drug peddlers in Handwara, contraband substance recovered

Press Trust Of Kashmir August 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police party of Police Station Kralgund during patrolling in Pandithpora area intercepted & apprehended 02 suspicious persons. During checking, officers were able to recover 106grams of Charas like substance from their possession. They have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Moochi son of Mohd Maqbool Moochi and Abdul Quyoom Mir son of Gh Nabi Mir both residents of Pandithpora. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 70/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kralgund and further investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
