Parents of Govt school teachers protests to demand extension of services of contractual teachers-2018

SRINAGAR, MAY 07 (PTK): Parents of Govt school teachers’ today protests to demand extension of services of contractual teachers as students are suffering.

Scores of parents of government teachers from different parts of stage the protest. They said the government framed a policy for regularisation of the contractual employees in various departments but excluded them from it.

“The government should form a roadmap for our regularisation like it has done for contractual doctors and engineers,” another protester said.

“However, nothing has been done so far. Our services are being neglected, and our career is being put at stake. We are facing discrimination and job insecurity,” the president said. A female teacher who was a part of the protest said many of them have crossed the age limit for employment in the government sector.

“If they are not regularised, where will they go,” they asked. Pertinent to mention the issue with this regard to the remuneration as well as regularization of contractual teachers was agitated by some candidates in court by the way of filling various writ petitions. (PTK)
