Overnight Sopore Encounter Leaves Two Terrorists dead: Officials

Sopore, Apr 26: Two unidentified terrorists were neutralized in an overnight encounter in Sopore, as confirmed by top officials on Friday.

The encounter, which took place at Check Mohalla Nowpora, saw the successful elimination of two terrorists, although their identities are yet to be confirmed, stated a senior police official. The bodies of the terrorists remain on the ground as operations continue in the area.

The operation, led by a joint team comprising the Army’s 22 RR, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, was launched following credible intelligence suggesting the presence of terrorists in Nowpora village.

While the encounter resulted in the elimination of the terrorists, it also led to injuries among security personnel and a civilian. However, prompt medical attention ensured that the injured are stable and receiving appropriate treatment.

As the operation progresses, security forces have sealed off roads leading to the encounter site, maintaining tight control over the area.
