One Terrorist Killed in Kishtwar Encounter, Search Operation Ongoing
Kishtwar, April 11 (PTK): In a major development, one terrorist has been neutralised in an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district.
According to an army official, the joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police on April 9, based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the dense Chatroo forests.
“Contact was established with the terrorists on the evening of April 9, following which a fierce exchange of fire ensued,” the official told PTK. “So far, one terrorist has been eliminated. The operation is still underway.”
Despite challenging weather conditions and the rugged mountainous terrain of the area, security forces have continued their search and destroy mission with determination.
A senior police officer, speaking to PTK, also confirmed the killing of a terrorist and reiterated that the operation is still in progress.
