Body of Third Missing Nomad Youth Recovered from Vaishaw Nallah in Kulgam
Kulgam, Apr 11 (PTK): The body of the third missing nomad youth was recovered from the Vaishaw Nallah near the Mah Bhan area in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, officials confirmed.
According to officials who spoke with the news agency PTK, the deceased, identified as Mukhtar Ahmad, had been untraceable since February 13 this year, along with two other youths whose bodies were discovered last month.
Local residents reportedly spotted the body and immediately alerted the police.
A police team promptly arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and shifted it to the District Hospital Kulgam for medico-legal procedures.
It is worth mentioning that on February 13, three youths — Riyaz Ahmad Bajad, his younger brother Showkat Ahmad Bajad, and Mukhtar Ahmad — all hailing from Rajouri, went missing after leaving for Ashmuji, Kulgam, to attend a family function. They vanished before reaching their destination, and their mobile phones have remained switched off since that day.
Previously, the bodies of the other two missing youths were also recovered from the Vaishaw Nallah.
“NDRF, SDRF, police, and other concerned authorities had been conducting intensive searches for the third missing youth. The operation concluded today with the recovery of the final body,” an official stated. —(PTK)
