One among the duo killed in warpora encounter identified

Two militants were killed in a three day gunfight at Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and have been identified as one local namely Tahir Ahmad War alias Tahir Molvi of Warpora active from 13 June 2018 and other as a foreigner whose identity is yet to be ascertained.
The body of Tahir was handed over to the family lateafteroon and was inhumed at his ancestral graveyard after a round of funeral procession amid Pro Freedom Slogans.
The encounter broke out early dawn of 21 March in the residential house of Mohd Maqbool Najar after a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, special operation group of police and CRPF beset the area after being tipped off about the presence of militants in the area.
Encounter was concluded after three days with the elimination of two militants whose dead bodies were recovered Saturday afternoon and are said to be affiliated with Jaish E Mohammed militant outfit.
