Says Situation under control, people must follow covid appropriate behavior
Sarinagar April 20 (PTK) Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole Tuesday said there was no plans to impose any sort of lockdown in the valley as the administration is following the slogan of “Jaan bhi, Jahaan bhi.”
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, he said that there is callousness among public which needs to plugged so as to beat Covid-19.
Last year lockdown was imposed to save lives as there was not much knowledge about the virus and its behavior, however with the passage of time, unlocking was done and measures were taken to prevent the spread of virus.
Due to lock down there was no tourism last year, due to which people suffered a lot, however, if people still will cooperate and follow covid appropriate behavior we can save our lives as well as our business.
He said that at present there are 7300 positive cases in kashmir while Kashmir has recorded 1300 deaths so far and he percentage of deaths is 1.47 and over 90 percent people have recovered.
He said that 28 lakh people were tested of which 20 lakh were done through Rapid Antigen Testing, and remaining through RTCPR.”
He said that only 30 percent beds out of 1500 beds have been occupied so far available and 37 percent hospitals in Kashmir are having adequate oxygen facility.
Situation is very much under control but people must leave their callousness and follow SOPs in letter and Spirit, he said.(PTK)
