NCDRC Members Review Functioning of Consumer Commission in Baramulla
Baramulla, May 16 (PTK): Members of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), New Delhi, Inder Jeet Singh and Shashi Nandan Keolyar on Friday visited the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Baramulla to review its functioning and assess the consumer grievance redressal mechanism in the district.
President DCDRC Baramulla Peerzada Qousar Hussain, Member Nyla Yaseen and Registrar National Commission Iqbal Ahmad accompanied the delegation during the visit.
During the inspection, the members reviewed the overall functioning of the Commission and discussed measures related to timely disposal of consumer cases, strengthening institutional mechanisms and effective implementation of consumer protection laws.
Later, the delegation visited Dak Bungalow Baramulla where they interacted with members of the Bar Associations of Baramulla and Kupwara and exchanged views on consumer rights, legal awareness and access to justice.
President Bar Association Baramulla Neelofer Masood and members of the Bar Associations appreciated the visit and welcomed continued efforts towards strengthening the consumer dispute redressal system in the region.(PTK)
