Mirwaiz North Kashmir Condemns Nocturnal Arrests of Senior Advocates, Calls for Judicial Intervention

Srinagar, July 23: Mirwaiz North Kashmir and Chairman Muslim Mutahida Mahaaz J&K Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi has condemned the recent crackdown on advocates in Kashmir. He called for immediate release of all political prisoners and advocates on humatarian grounds.

In his statement Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi said advocates play a very vital role in the judicial system of the country and in prevailing justice using their professional knowledge. These professionals face a lot of hurdles in performing their duty in the courts. So country must respect these professionals for their contribution in judiciary system of the nation .

Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi questioned who would fight people’s cases in court if lawyers are detained without any due procedure and urged the judiciary to take notice and intervene.

Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi appealed to the Centre and UT administration to end arbitrary arrests and show humanity and compassion by releasing the lawyers without any more delay for the overall betterment of society.

Moreover Mirwaiz Hassan Firdousi appealed Central and UT administration to release all political prisoners under general amnesty.
