MC President Pahalgam caught While accepting bribe of Rs 80,000

Srinagar, 21 Oct (PTK): The Anti Corruption Bureau (PTK) on Thursday laid a trap and caught president of Municipal Committee Pahalgam for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 for release of payments for supply of garbage vehicles.

In a statement issued to press trust of Kashmir (PTK), that reads following a complaint alleging that Owais Ahmad President of Municipal Committee Pahalgam was demanding Rs. 80,000 as bribe for release of payments for supply of Garbage Vehicles.

On receipt of the complaint, the anti-graft body said that a case (FIR No. 31/2021) U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered and further investigation taken up.

A team of ACB laid a trap and caught MC president Owais Ahmad red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe money.

An official said that the accused was arrested and taken to police custody and further investigation has been set into motion. (PTK)
