Gunfight breaks out in Chanapora Srinagar

Srinagar, 21 Oct (PTK) : A Gunfight breaks out on Thursday evening between security forces and militants in Chanapora area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Officials told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation following credible inputs of militants movement in the area .

As the joint team of forces approached towards towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering off an encounter.

Meanwhile kashmir police zone also tweeted “Encounter has started at #Chanapora area of #Srinagar. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”. (PTK)
