SRINAGAR : A man identified as Nasir Ganie from Raipora Palhallan, Baramulla, has been booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) by the police in Jammu and Kashmir. The move comes after formal detention orders were obtained from the competent authority.
Nasir Ganie, labeled as a hard-core instigator, has a history of involvement in anti-national activities, according to the police. Multiple cases have been registered against him, citing his role in disturbing law and order and subversion.
The Public Safety Act empowers authorities to detain individuals without trial for up to a year, a measure taken to safeguard national security. Despite facing numerous FIRs, Ganie allegedly continued his activities, leading to the decision to invoke the PSA against him.
As a consequence, Ganie has been incarcerated in the Central Jail of Kot-Balwal in Jammu, signaling a firm response to those engaging in activities deemed detrimental to the nation’s well-being. The use of the PSA reflects the authorities’ commitment to maintaining public order and national security in the region.
