Kashmir School Faces De-recognition Due to Management’s Anarchist Behavior
PTK News Desk
Authorities in Kashmir have taken the unprecedented step of de-recognizing a private school in Budgam district, citing concerns over the management’s “anarchist and rebellious attitude.”
The Directorate of School Education (DoE) issued an order withdrawing the recognition previously granted to Foundation World Mammat Budgam, effective November 23, 2021. The decision comes after a thorough inquiry initiated by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Budgam, to address various complaints lodged against the school.
According to the order, despite repeated attempts by the inquiry committee to engage with the school management to assess the situation, the management displayed a concerning lack of cooperation. On February 24, the committee, accompanied by CEO Budgam, faced extended delays as they were kept waiting from 10 am until 5:30 pm, reflecting a blatant disregard for the inquiry process.
Furthermore, the CEO reported that the school management failed to provide necessary documents in a satisfactory manner, hindering the committee’s ability to ascertain the facts. Additionally, the school allegedly neglected to involve departmental representatives in official matters, a mandatory requirement under established norms.
The order highlights the school’s consistent defiance of directives issued by competent authorities, signaling a pattern of disobedience and disregard for established protocols. The management’s behavior, characterized as “anarchist and rebellious,” has drawn condemnation from education officials, who deem it highly objectionable.
In response to the persistent delinquency demonstrated by the school, the DoE Kashmir has deemed immediate action against the institution necessary. The decision to revoke recognition underscores the seriousness with which the authorities view the management’s actions and serves as a deterrent against similar behavior in the education sector.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adherence to regulations and cooperative engagement between educational institutions and governing bodies. As Kashmir strives to maintain educational standards and uphold disciplinary norms, such measures are imperative to ensure accountability and foster a conducive learning environment for students.
