Kadfeen urges ECI to hold Assembly elections in JK without delay 

 

Says wedge between Govt. and people getting wider in absence of popular government

Srinagar: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Wednesday urged the Election Commission of India  (ECI) to announce assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir with our further delay, stating that the people of the state deserve a democratically elected government.

Kadfeen in a statement has said that  when the state could be ready for municipal, panchayat and now parliament elections, it is questionable that why elections for assembly are being mysteriously delayed.

He said that on the floor of parliament, Home Minister Rajnath Singh earlier declared that the government  is ready for the simultaneous assembly and parliament polls and when the time for walk the talk came, he back tracked.

He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been bearing the brunt of they governor’s rule as they have no representative that could mitigate their hardships and listen to their woes.

Kadfeen said that even the highest seat of power- the civil secretariat has been witnessing every thin attendance of the visitors, reflecting that the wedge between government and people is only getting wider with each passing day.

He urged ECI to hold state elections in Jammu and Kashmir without further delay so that the people could heave a sigh of relief and make their voices heard in the corridors of power.
