JD(U) Leaders Meet Chief Secretary, Raise Key Public Concerns
Srinagar, Sep 09(PTK): Today, JD(U) Party President G.M. Shaheen, along with senior party leaders, met the Hon’ble Chief Secretary Mr. Atal Dulloo at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
During the meeting, Mr. Shaheen highlighted the deteriorated condition of the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway. He stressed that the prolonged closure of the highway has created immense hardships, especially for apple growers, whose produce is being delayed in transportation. Mr. Shaheen strongly urged that the road be opened at the earliest to safeguard the interests of farmers and the economy.
The Chief Secretary assured Mr. Shaheen that the government is taking urgent steps and the highway will be restored for traffic soon, asking growers and the public not to worry.
On this occasion, party leaders Mr. Amjad Razvi and Advocate Zaman, General Secretary (JD(U) J&K), also raised concerns about the weak health infrastructure in District Kulgam. They pointed out the lack of facilities and urged improvement in hospitals across Kulgam and Budgam districts. Responding to the appeal, the Chief Secretary assured them that the government will address these issues and ensure better healthcare services for the people.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Shaheen expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Secretary for his positive response and commitment to addressing the urgent needs of the people.
