Jaundice Outbreak Reported in Aad Dehruna Village, Anantnag: Health Officials to Begin Sampling

Anantnag, 20 September: An outbreak of jaundice has been reported in Aad Dehruna village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag District on Friday.
Sources told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that at least seven people have tested positive in the village, among them three are children. All were treated at GMC Anantnag and MCCH Hospital Anantnag.
A health official, while informing Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK), said that two or three cases have tested positive for jaundice in the village. He mentioned that sampling will start tomorrow in the village.
However, BMO Verinag, Mohd Yousuf Bhat, told Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) that they were in the village today and will begin collecting samples tomorrow. He confirmed that two or three cases have been found positive in the village.
He added that they have called the Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP), who will check the situation and take samples tomorrow.
