Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Reopens For Stranded Vehicles

After a three-day closure, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been restored for vehicular movement, bringing relief to travelers. Stranded vehicles between Banihal and Nashree have been permitted to proceed.

The closure was necessitated by mudslides and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, causing disruptions along the vital highway route.

Efforts are underway to address ongoing challenges and ensure the permanent reopening of both sides of the highway. Work is progressing to enhance the resilience of the highway infrastructure, minimizing the impact of adverse weather conditions on transportation.

The restoration of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway highlights the resilience and determination of authorities to maintain connectivity between key regions. As travel resumes along this crucial corridor, travelers are urged to exercise caution and vigilance while navigating the route, particularly in inclement weather.
