IRP-7th Bn hosts Tiranga rally, interactive session with students to celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR JAMMU, AUGUST 13: As part of the “Azadi Ka Amlit Mahotsav”, India, IRP-7th Bn. held an interactive session with the students of Government Middle School Nardhani-Nadwal and Government Primary School Sajwal which was co-Presided by Kuldeep RaJ, BDC Chairman Bhatwal and Farooq Qaiser, Dy. Commandant IRP 7th, Bn. A Tiranga Rally comprising Students, teachers and Police officers/officials was also taken out at Battalion Headquarters Kot Bhalwal (Seri) ) Jammu.

The programme started with the playing of the National Anthem after Police officers/guest speakers held interaction with students. The students were informed about India’s great history and her freedom struggle so as to inculcate a sense of patriotism’ nationalism and brotherhood among them during their formative years.

A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion to celebrate the diversity and unity of our great nation.

 As part of “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, the students and other participants were provided National Flags to enable them to hoist the Tricolour at their homes. Gifts were also presented to the students on occasion, which was followed by a rally of participants holding National Flags in their hands.

An oath of unconditional allegiance, unquestioned loyalty, national pride and mutual respect was also administered to the participants by Dy. Commandant, Farooq Qaiser. In his address, he exhorted the participants  to value the freedom which we have been able to achieve after so many sacrifices and being maintained at the cost of so many precious lives. He also stressed upon the need for preserving our national unity and communal harmony, besides paying tributes to all the martyrs, particularly of Jammu and Kashmir Police who have paid back with their lives in the last over 30 years of our fight against terrorism.

The programme ended with lunch at the Bn Hqrs.

Others present and spoke on the occasion included Partap Singh, Sarpanch Gharota; Shivdev Singh, Sarpanch Ghaink and teachers of the participating schools.
