Distt Admin Ganderbal celebrates ‘International Youth Day’ under SVEEP

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR GANDERBAL, AUGUST 12: The District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with Election Department today celebrated International Youth Day under SVEEP programme at Govt. Boys Higher Sec. School, here.

On the occasion, a colorful function was held which was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC greeted the youth and briefed about the importance of this day which is held every year on August 12 to celebrate the qualities of young people and the challenges they face and highlighted the potential of youth in important matters of the society.

The DC also highlighted the importance of youth in the election process and urged all those students who have attained the age of 18 to enroll himself/herself as General Voter so that they can cast their votes to a responsible person during elections and participate in the development of the country.

Various students also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role of the younger generation in important matters of day today life, be it in the world of education, social justice, global peace, development, election process and more.

Meanwhile, Form-6 was also distributed among students for new enrollment.

The programme was attended by ACR, CEO, Dy DEO, Dy CEO and teachers besides students of various educational institutions of the district.
