Intensive Operations Unveil Militant Hideouts in Rajouri and Poonch

JAMMU:The area domination operations have been initiated in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch to dismantle militant networks and unearth their concealed hideouts. Joint teams comprising the Army, paramilitary forces, and police are conducting thorough searches in remote areas, including upper reaches, forests, and other vulnerable locations.

A significant breakthrough was achieved in the Thannamandi area of Rajouri district, where multiple hideouts were uncovered. The operations led to the discovery of a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives. This successful operation is part of ongoing efforts to neutralize militants and disrupt their support infrastructure.

Security forces have intensified their presence in forested and mountainous terrains, creating a strategic advantage to confront militants. Officials emphasize that these area domination operations are designed to apply pressure, potentially leading to encounters and the elimination of militant threats.

Just yesterday, security forces recovered a stash of four grenades, materials for improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two pistols with four magazines, hand grenades, and assorted items in Thannamandi. The findings suggest the presence of militants in the area. However, there is also speculation that these materials may have been deposited by Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for later retrieval—a scenario thwarted by the timely intervention of security forces.

The ongoing operations underscore the commitment of security forces to ensuring the safety and security of the region by actively countering militant activities.
