Habba Kadal residents protest, demand potable water

Srinagar May 18 (PTK) Inhabitants of Habba Kadal area of Srinagar on Wednesday staged protest against the PHE Department for failing to provide adequate water supply to them for past three months.

According to PTK,Scores of women from the locality blocked the main road, causing traffic jam in the area.

“For the last three month, we are not getting adequate water supply. We have been given assurances multiple times by the authorities, but nothing has been done in this regard,” the protesting women said.

We were without water in Ramadan and even on Eid and no steps are being taken in this regard, they said.

We have brought this issue in notice of higher authorities several times but to no avail, they said

They requested Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar and top officials of the concerned department to look into the matter and redress their genuine demand at the earliest. (PTK)
