Gunfight underway in Sopore village

SRINAGAR, (PTK): A gunfight is underway between the militants and the government forces in Drusoo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports said that special operations group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the army launched searches in Drusoo village following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

They said that two militants hiding in the area opened fire on the forces, triggering a gunfight.

Unconfirmed reports said that both the militants have been killed. However, a top police official said that they were yet to retrieve any bodies. “Firing has stopped from both the sides,” he said.

Meanwhile, authorities have ordered  the closure  of all schools and colleges in Sopore area. (PTK)
