Gunfight rages in Anantnag

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Watnar Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district Saturday.

An official said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Kokernag.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said.

Exchange of fire in on and two to three militants are believed to be trapped, he said.:-PTK.
