Gunfight breakes out in Baramulla

Baramulla 24 Dec: (PTK)A gunfight broke out between Militants and Security forces in Wanigam Payeen Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday Morning.

An official told news agency PTK that a joint team of security forces including Army’s Special Operation Group(SOG) and CRPF launched a search operation after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As soon forces went close to the suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon by forces, which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

Kashmir Police Zone also informed in a tweet, “ #Encounter has started at #Wanigam Payeen Kreeri area of #Baramulla. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice ”
