Former Village Head Rescued After Kidnapping: 7 Arrested in J&K’s Kathua

Seven men have been apprehended for the alleged kidnapping of Varinder Singh, the former Sarpanch of a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. The victim, Varinder Singh alias Bantu, was rescued by the police in an injured condition and is currently receiving medical treatment at Government Medical College hospital.

 

The kidnapping, orchestrated at the behest of Kamaldeep Singh alias Rinku, Varinder Singh’s sworn enemy according to a complaint filed by Ram Saran Sharma of Marheen village, involved six individuals wielding a gun who forcefully took Varinder Singh in a Mahindra Scorpio car from Kathua’s Chann Rorian village.

 

The apprehended suspects, identified as Kamaldeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Rajbir Singh, Yogeshwar Singh, Vikram Singh, Daljeet Singh, and Vinod Sharma, are now in custody. Additionally, a pistol was seized from their possession, further adding to the gravity of the situation.

 

This incident sheds light on the complexities of interpersonal conflicts that can escalate to dangerous levels, prompting swift police action to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals caught in such disputes.
