Er Rashid approaches court, seeking bail to take oath as MP

New Delhi, June 6: Winner of the Lok Sabha elections from North Kashmir’s Baramulla constituency, the incarcerated former Assembly Member Engineer Rashid has approached Delhi’s Patiala House Court seeking interim bail to take oath as a member of parliament.

Er Rashid is currently lodged at Delhi’s Tihar Jail for being accused of militancy related funding.

Additional Sessions Judge of Patiala House Court Chander Jeet Singh as per the media reports has sought a response from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Engineer Rashid’s bail plea.

The court will hear the case on Friday.
