Ensure adequate water supply in Downtown areas: Manzoor Bhat to DC Srinagar, Maintenance & Repair roads of interior area of Sher-i-khaas.

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : BJP’s Kashmir Unit on Tuesday urged Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Chief Engineer Jal Shakti department to ensure adequate drinking water supply in several areas Downtown as they are facing water crisis from the past several weeks.

Party youth leader and Kashmir Media Incharge Manzoor Bhat in a statement issued here said although there are Covid19 crisis in place but providing drinking water , other basic facilities should be on administration priority.

“I visited SafaKadal, Noorbagh, Chota Bazar Gurbazar & Noorpora Sakidafar area, wherein the inhabitants of the locality raised their grievances regarding drinking water shortage, poor drainage system, sanitation and macadamizing roads,” he said.

Bhat said at most of the places people are still facing basic issues which should be resolved on priority basis.  Special teams should be deputed to address these concerns in these areas, so that people will have a sigh of relief, he said.

“Even Choto Bazar is nearest to Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) but there is still the issue of sanitation, lack of drainage facility and other basic issues,” he said.

Earlier on Monday, Bhat also visited Humhama, wherein the inhabitants of the locality raised the absence of basic facilities including drainage, repairing of inner roads and residents were assured that their demands would be resolved soon.

While reacting to Covid19 relaxation, the youth leader appealed to the people to adopt the Covid19 protocol to ensure there should be no lockdown re-imposed again.

“I appreciate the District administration, Police and other frontline workers as Srinagar is witnessing massive decrease in daily Covid19 positive infection, which is a welcome step. People also cooperated with administration this time and they will continue this enthusiasm in future also,” he said.(PTK)
