Encounter in Kulgam: Security Forces Engage Terrorists

Srinagar, Jul 06: An encounter erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Chinnigam village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, officials reported.

An official stated that a joint team of security forces initiated a cordon and search operation based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. As the forces neared the suspected location, the hiding terrorists opened fire on them. The security forces retaliated, leading to the encounter.

This incident followed another anti-terrorist operation in the Modergam village of the same district earlier in the day, during which one army personnel was reportedly injured.
